The Memmert and Revvity case study shows how important precisely controlled incubation conditions can be in a diagnostic workflow. In the Czech and Slovak market, MERCI provides expert support for these solutions - from selecting the right configuration and assessing the application to user training and service.

Diagnostics of infectious diseases is not only about the test itself. The conditions under which the laboratory process takes place are just as important. Stable temperature, precisely controlled atmosphere, reproducibility and reliable equipment can determine whether a test result is trustworthy, repeatable and suitable for further decision-making.

One example is the cooperation between Memmert and Revvity, described by Memmert in its case study on the diagnosis of latent tuberculosis. At its Oxford site, Revvity uses a Memmert HPPCeco climate chamber adapted to the workflow requirements of the T-SPOT.TB test. This process requires precisely defined incubation conditions: a temperature of 37 °C, 5 % CO₂ concentration, 90 % relative humidity and an incubation time of 16 to 20 hours.

At first glance, this may seem like "just" a laboratory chamber. In reality, however, this type of equipment forms a critical part of the entire diagnostic process. If the result is to be reliable, catalogue accuracy alone is not enough. The equipment must match the specific application, be correctly configured, be manageable in daily operation and be supported by long-term service.

When laboratory equipment affects the quality of the result

In Revvity’s case, one of the key points was the automation of transitions between individual steps of the laboratory workflow. Previously, staff intervention was required even outside normal working hours. Thanks to the adapted Memmert solution, it became possible to reduce the need for weekend interventions, improve operational planning and strengthen the reproducibility of the overall process.

This is where the broader value of Memmert m360 becomes clear. It is not only about standard laboratory instruments, but about the ability to adapt equipment to the specific requirements of an application. In regulated, accredited or operationally sensitive laboratories, this difference is essential. A laboratory often does not need “some chamber”. It needs a solution that corresponds to the process, the samples, subsequent workflow steps, documentation requirements and the expected operating mode.

The role of MERCI: from equipment selection to service support

This is where MERCI’s role becomes important.

MERCI is a premium partner of Memmert for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Our role is not limited to supplying equipment. We support customers already at the stage of equipment selection and technical assessment of the application: which parameters truly matter for the process, what environment the equipment must maintain over the long term, how it will be integrated into the laboratory operation and what requirements may arise regarding customization, validation, user training or service.

For specialized solutions such as chambers with controlled temperature, humidity and CO2, this application support is crucial. The difference between a standard purchase of an instrument and a properly designed solution often becomes visible only in operation: in accuracy, stability, usability, maintenance, connection to internal laboratory procedures and the ability to resolve service situations quickly.

MERCI therefore provides not only commercial representation, but also expert consultation, installation, commissioning, user training and service support. For more demanding applications, we help customers define the technical requirements, assess the suitability of a specific solution and communicate with the manufacturer so that the final configuration reflects the real needs of the laboratory.

From an international reference to local laboratory practice

The Revvity and Memmert case is a good example of where laboratory technology is heading. From isolated instruments to more complex solutions designed for a specific workflow. From a general specification to an application in which every parameter matters. From merely delivering equipment to taking long-term responsibility for its proper operation in practice.

For laboratories in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it is therefore important not only that Memmert offers advanced equipment and customer-specific modifications within the m360 programme. Thanks to MERCI, customers have a local premium partner for these solutions — one who understands the laboratory environment, helps select the right configuration and provides support throughout the entire life cycle of the equipment.

Where a laboratory process affects the quality of diagnostics, research or production, there is no room for compromise. Precise conditions, the right technology and reliable local support form one complete solution.

This is the strength of the connection between Memmert and MERCI.
